*WHAT YOU WON'T BE TOLD DURING EASTER*
Easter is a yearly celebration to remember the death of Christ. This celebration is celebrated across three days: Good Friday (when Jesus died), Easter Sunday (the day he resurrected), and Esther Monday (his appearance at Galilee). There is a particular day that is missing and kept silent in this sequence. Is it not all that significant? Why the overlook? What day is it?
The death and Resurrection of Jesus was recorded in the four gospel books, but let's take the account of Luke as a case study recorded in Luke 23 and 24.
As popularly known today, Jesus died on Good Friday, let's see the way Luke puts it:
23:52-54
52 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 53 Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was hewn out of the rock, where no one had ever lain before. 54 *That day was the Preparation, and the Sabbath drew near.*
👉🏽 *_Fridays, at least Good Friday biblically is known as the preparation of the Sabbath._*
Today, we celebrate Esther Sunday as the day Jesus resurrected. Luke and all other gospel book calls that day the first day of the week:
24:1
1 *Now on the first day of the week,* very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.
👉🏽 *_Sunday biblically is regarded as the first day of the week, which what we have today correlates with it._*
The missing day here is the day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, which is Saturday, the Seventh day. What happened that day?
23:56
56 Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. *And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.*
👉🏽 *_Saturday, the seventh day, is the Sabbath day. The people rested even the women that wanted to anoint Jesus' body. Since Easter is all about Jesus, Jesus also rested in the grave on the Sabbath day._*
Good Friday is still relevant, Easter Sunday and Monday is still celebrated, but the seventh day, the Sabbath day of the Lord right from creation is still being ignored by those who profess to celebrate easter. This is what you won't be told during easter, *that Saturday is the Sabbath day.*
*SUMMARILY PUT*
👉🏽 Good Friday is the day of the preparation of the Sabbath. Jesus died for our sins.
👉🏽 *Saturday, the Seventh day of the week is the Sabbath day, Jesus rested in the tomb* (What you won't be told during easter)
👉🏽 Easter Sunday is first day of the week (the day after the Sabbath). Jesus resurrected from the grave.
Happy Easter.
I hope this guides someone who has being in the valley of decision on which day to worship.
